- Every taxi has a taxi light on the roof as at the picture above or a similar sign with the phone number.
- Make sure that you agree with the driver exactly what the fare will be before you get in the taxi. Meters are not used in Kiev and most cities in Ukraine.
- If the driver seems to be driving in circles, write down his registration number and call the taxi company later.
- Most drivers are honest, so relax and talk with the driver about the city.
- Tipping is not required as chances are you are paying much more for your fare than you should be. Usually rounding off the fare to the next Hr. 5 or 10 is sufficient.
- Give a higher tip only if the driver really gave you good service, or if you have kept the taxi waiting.
- It is a good idea to always carry small denomination bank notes.
